The overall administration and supervision
of the institute is under the control of the Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare (MOH&FW), Government
of Bangladesh. The Head of the Institute is the Director,
who controls, supervises and monitors the activities of
the institute. The institute consists of 12 departments,
namely Bio-statistics, Community Medicine, Epidemiology,
Health Education, Maternal and Child Health, Medical Entomology,
Microbiology and Mycology, Nutrition and Biochemistry,
Occupational and Environmental Health, Parasitology, Population
Dynamics and Public Health and Hospital Administration.
An Academic Council constituted by the heads of the departments
of NIPSOM, Heads of allied institutes, a representative
from the MOH&FW and other experts to act as a quality
control board for all activities of NIPSOM.
