National Institute of Preventive and
Social Medicine (NIPSOM) is providing higher level of
education to produce a quality Public Health workforce
in the country. This Public Health workforce is dedicated
for conduction of research and promotion of health to
reach Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and other public
health challenges. It conducts Master of Public Health
(MPH) Courses of one-year duration in eight disciplines
and one M. Phil course of two-years duration. NIPSOM has
produced yet nearly 100 M. Phil and 2000 MPH graduates.
The students are conducting each year about 120 researches.
About 20 more researches are conducted by the faculties
each year. An internationally recognized journal (JOPSOM)
is being published twice in a year. It conducts short
courses in various disciplines.
NIPSOM works in collaboration with various ministries,
agencies and Universities. These include WHO, HNPSP etc.
NIPSOM is the member of SEIPHEIN and APACH. It has got
collaboration with Cambridge University, Mahidol University,
Tokyo University and Tokai graduate School. NIPSOM has
kept pace with evolving concept of Public Health like
accreditation process for quality assurance. It is a matter
of great honor that recently NIPSOM has been declared
as a WHO collaborating Centre.
Hope NIPSOM will continue to achieve its objectives. Any
